Little ones can share a room right off the master suite if they need to be closer to mom and dad. A large master bath with a soaking tub and separate shower makes this a true master retreat. Need some time away from the kids? This home is the perfect place - a fully insulated walkout level allows kids to have their own space yet close off their bedrooms should they need some privacy too. A separate "parent" bedroom in the walkout level allows a second set of parents to be on that level too. Windows and patio doors allow a spectacular view of the lake even for the kids. There is a wet bar and full bath in the walk out level making this a great home for two families to share. Outdoor Spaces The yard is shaded with a combination of white and red pine as well as beautiful hard wood trees including maples and oaks. Fall colors are spectacular and memories are made around the large fire pit as you roast hot dogs and eat those tasty s'mores. Take a short stroll down the steps to the lake where a large, newer pontoon is available for rent for those sunset cruises. Afternoons are spent fishing on this walleye/bass/pan fish lake, swimming, water skiing, canoeing, kayaking or just floating in the lake. Perhaps you just want to curl up with a good book on the front screened porch to enjoy the fresh air. Later you might use the porch for a late night chat or card game should the weather not be agreeable. The kitchen and dining room exit onto the huge deck made for entertaining with a large grill and easy access to the built in hot tub. The third lower deck has a hot tub that overlooks the lake and seats eight and provides a special view of a sky without light pollution. We dare you to try to count the stars! Nearby Amenities If you love winter sports from ice fishing, to snowshoeing, snowmobiling or skiing, you have come to the right place. There are many hiking, biking, cross country and snowmobile trails throughout the area including in Interstate State Park, Governor Knowles State Forest or Straight Lake State Park. Both the Cattail Trail and the Northern Railroad Trail can be accessed nearby. Go hiking at Cattail State Trail in Amery, Stower Seven Lakes State Trail in Balsam Lake or the Straight Lake State Park in Luck. Go tubing on the Apple River in Somerset, kayak down the Namekagon River in Trego, or take a boat ride down the St. Croix (a national scenic waterway) at Interstate State Park. Try fly fishing at one of the areas many streams. Beach buffs will love the sandy beaches with play ground equipment and picnic shelters at Beaver Dam Lake in Cumberland, Shell Lake, Rice Lake or Balsam Lake all about 15-20 minute drive away. Locally, there is a small beach on the Lake or you can take a short drive over to Pipe Lake which has a lovely sandy swimming beach near the public boat access. This area is a hunter’s paradise with many wooded and field areas offering abundant game. With 15 regional golf courses just a short drive away, there is a course for every type of duffer! No trip to Wisconsin is complete without going to one of the iconic supper clubs for dinner. If you still have energy after a full day on the lake, hiking or, in the winter, skiing or snowmobiling, nearby Turtle Lake offers a casino for adult entertainment. Neighboring Cumberland, the Island City, has a small town charm and fantastic dining. Nearly every week throughout the summer there are local festivals, dairy feeds, art fairs and music to add to this memorable vacation.

Cabin (1800 sq. ft.) in Turtle Lake, WI

Fun for All Ages on Upper Turtle Lake Although travel has changed significantly in the past 12 months, we remain nimble in our response by keeping up with the latest recommendations. We have remained safely open throughout the Covid crisis in order to provide guests an opportunity to escape from home and enjoy reconnecting with nature. As health care providers, Becky and I, as well as our team, pay particular attention to enhanced cleaning practices endorsed by the CDC, VRBO and Safe Stay-USA. We not only want you to have a wonderful time enjoying your lake stay, but also want to keep you and your family as well as our team safe and healthy as we negotiate through this Covid crisis. Ask about our early bird (book six months in advance) and long stay discounts (longer than a week)! Moonlight Mooring is a lovely, open concept chalet style cabin which allows family/friend time together, but is plenty large to get away from each other. Moonlight Mooring is ideally located (one and a half hours to the Twin Cities or Duluth, 5 hours to Chicago) in the heart of Lake Country. Recently renovated with new appliances, dock, window coverings, carpeting and furniture, bath, A/C, windows, water equipment and added half bath, this cabin a standout value in vacation homes. With multiple bed configurations, Moonlight Mooring is the perfect location for a couple’s getaway, a girls or guys weekend, or a family vacation. Moonlight Mooring can accommodate 2-8 people with 1.5 baths, two bedrooms plus a huge loft, a fully equipped kitchen, large open concept living/dining area with beautiful lake views. An added bonus for families with younger kids is the paly area with a replica furnished play house, swing set, play structure and spacious grassy paly area. The view from the loft is wonderful and this flexible space acts as a romantic get-away or a huge room for the kids to bunk in together. Moonlight Mooring is accessible for older adults or people with disabilities with main floor bedrooms, two steps into the house and a gentle slope down to the lake. Moonlight Mooring is situated on a quiet cove of Upper Turtle Lake, a premier recreational/fishing lake. It has a 1 acre moderately wooded lot with gorgeous gardens, a large grassy area for playing and a picnic, a canoe and 2 kayaks, a play structure, swing set and a replica kids playhouse. On rainy days, parents can still enjoy the lake from the front porch and kids can play in the play house. Once the sun comes out, guests can enjoy the play structure, throw in a line off the dock, spend some time in the canoe or kayaks, relax in the hammock with a good book, spend the afternoon splashing in the water or pack a picnic and spend the whole day at Shell Lake, Beaver Dam Lake, Rice Lake or Balsam Lake on their beautiful sand beaches while the kids get the wiggles out on their wonderful playgrounds. In the evening, grill your supper, build a campfire with the wood we supply, roast marshmallows for s'mores and then tell ghost stories while reliving the great day you had on the water. After the kids are down, enjoy the sunset and the stars coming out while being serenaded by the loons and owls. If you need a change of scenery, jump in the car and hit the casino or one of the nearby charming towns or explore one of the many nearby lakes. It is a short drive to major attractions including casino, hiking, biking, ATV/snowmobile trails, skiing, fly fishing, rafting and kayaking rivers, beaches, wineries, restaurants/supper clubs and festivals. Great Room, Kitchen and Dining Room The great room is spectacular with a soaring ceiling, floor to ceiling windows facing the lake, and a beautiful fieldstone fireplace. Watch the deer meander by, the eagles soar, and listen to the call of the loon while enjoying the sunrise or moon rise view from the huge wrap- around porch with a cup of coffee in hand. A large, well equipped kitchen allows the cook to be part of the fun in this open area. Enjoy a fire while listening to your family play cribbage or Monopoly on chilly fall evenings. This space is large enough to be set up for days worth of scrapbooking with family and friends. A dining table with the lake view seats the entire family, but who wants to eat indoors during the summer when you can picnic at the lakeside after grilling some mouth-watering steaks. Moonlight Mooring has internet and TV, but likely you will be having so much fun, you will forget to turn on the electronics! Outdoor Spaces Moonlight Mooring is literally just steps away from the lake, down a gentle slope. There is a grassy area at the lake's edge, so you can spread out a blanket and relax near the water. Upper Turtle Lake has a sandy bottom, and is a large, fully recreational lake where anglers can catch bluegill, large-mouth bass, walleye and northern pike and you can enjoy all water sports. Our cove has clear water but the bottom is mucky; however swimming is decent off our dock as it is deeper and we keep it weeded. Bring your own boat, use our canoe and kayaks or rent our pontoon. The yard is shaded with a combination of white and red pine as well as beautiful old growth hard wood trees including maples and oaks which provide spectacular fall color. We mow the yard so there is plenty of room for kids to play.

You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night. Group Camping: We welcome campers with larger parties, but the standard Tentrr setup only includes the canvas tent plus the additional pop-up dome tent. You may need and are encouraged to bring additional camping gear of your own if you plan on camping with a large party. Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. You may have as many campers in your party up to the maximum limit that is set for the listing, but please note that the only bed provided as a standard amenity is the one set up inside the canvas tent. Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean. Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days. Other Things to Note: Bring your own food/cooler, clothes and big ...,everything else you need to glamp is provided: two burner propane camp stove (propane included), small cast iron skillet, soup pan, ladle, large spoon, skillet, kettle, espresso maker, service for four, cups, two wine goblets, wine opener, popcorn maker, marshmallow/hotdog roasting skewers, dish soap, cloth, towel, paper towels, cloth napkin, can opener. Queen size bed with linens, pillows, blankets. Stay warm at night with a fire and (alternative) down comforter and fleece blankets, plus a propane heater. DO NOT feed our dogs or horses. Please do clean up after your dogs in/around campsite and trails. Dogs must be under voice command or on a leash (there are lots of deer and the owner may be fined if their dog is seen chasing deer) also it is not uncommon to have fox, bear, coyote and wolf sitings. Do bring your horses. Interaction with Guests: Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property. If a CampKeeper submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper’s property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set! Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your reservation confirmation on Airbnb. If you need to cancel or modify your reservation, please reach out to Tentrr Customer Support. Your CampKeeper is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf. Cabin (900 sq. ft.) in Frederic, WI
11.7 miles from Beaver Dam Lake
A peaceful cabin for your nature escape. Whether you choose to sit on the covered porch watching for wildlife or the deck watching the sunset over the lake you have the best of both worlds This is the place for nature lovers...loons, hummers, woodpeckers, cardinals, butterflies, chippers, deer and more. Look under a rock to find salamanders or earthworms for fishing. Catch the Fireflies (hence the name) at night. Incredible star gazing. Wild flowers, berries, rock hunting and throwing in the lake. A fun fairy garden to rearrange. Nighttime. What can I say......sun sets and sitting around the campfire. Singing, music (listen for the bagpipes) and of course s’mores. Our favorite is telling stories, maybe even scary. Talking about walks we are just around the corner from the McKenzie Creek wildlife area (snowmobile trails, hunting, trout fishing- see website). https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/Lands/WildlifeAreas/mckenziecreek.html Take a hike along the Ice Age trail https://www.iceagetrail.org We are also very close to the Straight Lake State Park: https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/straightlake Just walking down our road on a snowy winter day is quite a delight. If you like to ride your bike, the Gandy Dancer out of Luck or Frederic is just 20 minutes away. https://www.co.polk.wi.us/?SEC=942A9378-B844-4599-B868-89BFD8D777FE Prefer to motorize it? https://www.co.polk.wi.us/trailsnowmobile or https://www.co.polk.wi.us/trailatvutv Fishing: According to my grandson fishing off the dock is great. So far this summer they have had 3 family fish fries with sunnies, crappies, bass and even some walleyes. Walleyes are his favorite. Or if you are lucky enough to have a boat to bring there are many more lakes around to explore. Ice fishing is also very popular on Ward Lake For lovers of fall, this is an ideal getaway to see the leaves! Check out the local apple orchard: https://www.facebook.com/TimberlandHillsOrchardAndGardens/ Eating out: Oh my, within 15 to 30 minutes there are a ton of very good restaurants. Breakfast, lunch or dinner you will not be disappointed in the quality of food. I will have a full list with phone numbers at the cabin. If you enjoy casinos we have 2 within 30 minutes of the cabin. Turtle Lake and Webster. There are 2 great quilt shops nearby. One in St. Croix Falls and another in Rice Lake. Scrappers and card makers there are two shops; one in Frederic and the other in Siren. There is also a Hobby Lobby in Rice Lake. If you enjoy pottery stores there is a great one in Shell Lake. https://www.thepottersshed.com I love book stores. There is a great book store in Spooner which also has a great assortment of knitting supplies. Spooner also has a great bakery Clothes shopping, lunch and a gallery with local artwork- all in one store. And then go to Louies for fantastic meat. All 15 minutes away in Cumberland. Co-op in Luck and Cumberland. Remember to stock up on spices, less expensive than grocery stores and you only buy what you need. Love cheese? Try Comstock (south of Cumberland, you can watch it being made) and Burnett Dairy (east of Siren on WI 70). Burnett has a great lunch counter, ice cream cones and fun samples on weekends. Golf: Take your pick...Luck, Frederic, Cumberland, Siren

Chalet (1186 sq. ft.) in Balsam Lake, WI
11.7 miles from Beaver Dam Lake
The lake side chalet home is located on Big Round's western shore on a very private lot. We are the last place on a private dead end road so our closest neighbor to the south is barely visible and the neighbor to the north is 700 ft away. The home has the open great room concept and also features a real wood burning fireplace. The main floor has two bedrooms, the great room, kitchen, and bathroom. The loft acts as the third bedroom and features a king size bed. The fishing on this lake is world class and people come from all over to catch huge bluegills and chase what seems to be an endless population of bass. Wisconsin's state fish, the mighty musky have been caught here and are huge. We have a canoe that is included with the rental.. If you are interested in renting our pontoon boat please contact Mark for availability.

Cottage in Rice Lake, WI

The "Gatekeeper" cottage is our first cottage here at Stonehaven. The inside of the main floor is completely finished and beautiful! There is a natural stone fireplace in the living room, a full kitchen, a full bath on the main floor and a half bath in the sleeping loft. One must be able to climb ladder stairs to the sleeping loft. Guests are welcome to hiking trails and the outdoors of our 40 acre property. The space Apple maps is accurate for getting to Stonehaven Cottages, but google maps is still in the process of placing our address correctly on their system. Our cottage is smoke free. If you smoke, you are welcome to smoke outside on our porch that wraps around the entire front of the cottage or anywhere outdoors where the smoke does not affect others. Fireworks of any type are strictly forbidden on the property. The Lake Tuscobia Lake is a beautiful spring fed wilderness lake. During the summer months most of the lake is very weedy and is best suited for canoeing, row boats, and kayaks. The north end of the lake however, is 24 feet deep with much less weeds, and our guests are able to take a mile or so pontoon ride down to that end and swim off of the pontoon. The lake itself is visible from the front porch of the cottage, but it is about a quarter mile walk to our dock area. There are also several campfire areas that overlook the lake for our guests to enjoy. Guest access Guests have the whole main level and sleeping loft to themselves and can also use any of our hiking trails and campfire areas throughout the 40 acre property. We also have a pontoon, paddle boat, canoe, and rowboat that can be rented on Tuscobia Lake by any of our guests. When the walk out basement is completed next spring guests will have access to that area as well, which will add another sleeping area and another full bathroom. The basement is unoccupied while guests are staying with us. Interaction with guests As owners, we are living on the property so if you need anything, we are just a phone call away. One of us is available almost 100% of the time. Other things to note Regular pricing of $150 per night on weekends (Fri. and Sat.) and $125.00 per night on week nights (Sun. -Thurs.). Saturday nights the noise from the Rice Lake Speedway can be heard. The speedway is out a mile away and the level of noise varies based on the wind direction.

Slow and steady wins the race! We are tickled to introduce our second cottage “The Turtle” here at Stonehaven Cottages! This cozy little one level cottage was moved here from Turtle Lake, WI and has received a total makeover. We’ve sprinkled in a few antiques, along with some adorable turtle decor to give this quaint lakeside cottage a charm all its own! Transforming this little gem was a lot of hard work, but well worth it! The first thing we did was knock out a few walls to create an open concept, which includes a full kitchen, dining area, and a living room with a cozy field stone fireplace. It has one small bedroom with a full size bed, a queen sofa sleeper in the living room, and a small bathroom with a shower. The focal point of this cottage boasts a large barnwood archway in the vaulted ceiling giving it a look and feel of being inside a turtle shell. We added barnwood and cedar shakes to several walls giving it a warm rustic charm. We left some of the knotty pine walls to give it a nostalgic feel of northwoods cabins of the past. You'll enjoy the look and feel of the old Fir flooring as you walk barefoot throughout the cottage. The entire east side wall of The Turtle has windows allowing for a spectacular sunrise view of Tuscobia Lake! You can enjoy eating/grilling on the lakeside deck, or relaxing by the campfire area that overlooks the waterfowl marsh in the foreground, and Tuscobia Lake in the background. You won't want to miss watching the Bald Eagles flying in and out of their nest on Eagle Island, which is about 500 feet across the lake from the campfire area. When life gets too busy, come and slow down a bit at "The Turtle"!

Located within blocks of the Wisconsin ATV/Snowmobile trails of the Indianhead region of northern Washburn County. Shell Lake has some of the best Walleye, Bass, Northern Pike and Muskie fishing around. If fishing on open waters or on top of the ice, the fishing will not disappoint you. Shell Lake is a 2600 acre lake known for it's clean water & sandy beaches. There is a public boat landing in town, so you can bring your boat along. For pontoon boat rentals contact Matt Dryden, Shell Lake or AAA Sports in Spooner. Both groups will deliver boat to Shell Lake Public Boat Launch & meet you there. Includes life jackets. Past renters have used each of these companies. Please note: A City of Shell Lake ordinance limits the maximum # of occupants in a rental home to (10) persons and (4) vehicles.
